How the surf height is estimated
We take the Open-Meteo wave forecast offshore and scale it for this spot with a factor learned from two years of the Scripps CDIP MOP nearshore wave model, which accounts for headlands, islands and the sea floor. From the wave height at the spot (15.01 m deep) we estimate the breaking wave and show its face height as a range. It is a model estimate, not an observation: check the beach before you paddle out.
