The overnight low at 0.6 ft drops shallow structure and exposes sand flats — if you were out early on the Cayucos Pier or wading the beach, the incoming push from 2–8 AM was the prime window for perch and corbina. The midday low is mild (2.2 ft), so the afternoon outgoing won't drain much, but the building incoming ahead of the 5.4 ft evening high makes the 4–7 PM window a solid second shot for surf perch along the beach and rockfish near the jetty.

Lake Nacimiento
The spotted bass bite has been outstanding on topwater this week. Work Whopper Ploppers, poppers, and walking baits early and late — fish are active along points and in open-water areas. Once the sun is up, drop-shot rigs, Neko rigs, and hula grubs in baitfish, orange crusher, or green are producing in 5–20 feet near bottom. Crappie are stacking near docks, submerged brush, and rock piles — small live minnows or mini jigs are the move. Catfish anglers are doing well on cut mackerel, sardines, or chicken liver. Lake level is sitting at roughly 57% capacity.
Lake San Antonio
Bass are biting best early morning on crankbaits and jerkbaits in the shallows. Expect the reaction bite to shut down once the sun climbs — transition to drop-shot Roboworms or small shad plastics worked tight to structure or along depth transitions through midday. Worth targeting both spots in the same trip if you're making the drive out from Paso or the coast.
