Tide questions

When is the next high tide and low tide at San Diego?
The next high tide at San Diego is tomorrow at 9:55 AM (6.3 ft). The next low tide is tomorrow at 3:45 AM (0.8 ft). Times are Pacific Time and heights are in feet above MLLW, from NOAA station 9410170.
Where does Cal Coast Tides get its tide data?
Tide predictions and observed water levels come from NOAA Tides & Currents (CO-OPS). The San Diego readings use NOAA station 9410170 (San Diego Bay). Swell, wind, sea-surface temperature and weather come from Open-Meteo.
How many high and low tides does the California coast get each day?
Most of the California coast has mixed semidiurnal tides: usually two high tides and two low tides every lunar day (about 24 hours 50 minutes), and the two highs and two lows are noticeably different heights. That is why tide times shift roughly 50 minutes later each day.
What does MLLW mean on a tide chart?
MLLW (Mean Lower Low Water) is the average height of the lower of the two daily low tides. NOAA tide heights are measured from it, so 0.0 ft is an average lower low tide and negative values (minus tides) are lower than average, which is the best time for tide pooling.
Can I use these tide predictions for navigation?
No. Predictions are for general reference only. Actual water levels differ with wind, swell and atmospheric pressure. Use official NOAA products and local notices for navigation or safety-critical decisions.
